Honeycomb Headlines

The Career Fair at Leavitt is an opportunity that JMG (Jobs for Maine’s Graduates) organizes each year. This year Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors from our school had the opportunity to hear from vendors tabling in the Large Gym during HPT & 3rd Period. Students got to experience different trades, military opportunities, and direct to the workforce careers. Some of these career opportunities that students would not normally be exposed to are offered in different areas throughout Maine. This fair has been gaining traction over the past few years since covid but has been going for around 10 years now. Many vendors engaged with students through activities and handing out information to help expose everyone to what they had to offer. It was a fun way to learn to talk about ourselves, as well as, share our interests with the guest. “It was an exciting day filled with lots of opportunities for our students. Leavitt and JMG foster a fantastic environment for learning more about the amazing career fields out there. We were able to add more vendors this year, having more than 50 vendors present.” (Ms. Courchesney)

Students that participated in the event totally around 250 and with a wide variety of careers this will be one to remember.
