The Leavitt boys’ basketball team concluded the 2023-2024 season with a record of 3 wins and 15 losses. It was a challenging year as the team had difficulties in putting their strengths together and playing as a team. Freshman Colin Schlobohm led the team in scoring. Their primary goal was to reach the Portland Expo, but their season did not go as they had hoped. With this experience in mind, it has fueled the boys with the determination needed to make the 2024-2025 season a successful one and work toward that expo dream.

The season kicked off with a tough match against the Erskine Eagles. The team entered the game with high hopes but ultimately fell short, losing 50-58. After putting in a lot of effort to learn how to work together and hours in practice, the Leavitt Hornets eventually figured it out. They faced the Oak Hill Raiders next, with a victory of 60-41. This win gave the boys a sense of confidence and hope for the rest of the season. Although they came to a few more losses, the boys remained hopeful, and they eventually turned things around, securing five additional victories, which brought their record to 6 wins and 9 losses.

Currently, the Leavitt Hornets sit in 8th place in Class B. They are preparing for a rematch against Erskine, dedicating themselves to practice and approaching the game with a mindset of giving it their all. Despite their previous loss, they are excited to push themselves, play hard, and hopefully defeat the Eagles.
