Leavitt spring sports have had an exciting season so far, with teams working hard and improving every day. The softball team has continued its strong season and now has a 9-5 record with some big wins against tough teams. Baseball has also had a great year, improving to 12-2 and proving they are one of the top teams in the conference. Boys lacrosse currently has a 5-7 record and has played hard through a difficult schedule with many close games. Girls lacrosse is 1-10, but the team continues to stay positive, compete hard, and improve each game. Track and field athletes have also had a successful season, with many athletes setting personal records and preparing for KVACs and States. Overall, Leavitt athletes have shown teamwork, determination, and school pride all spring long.

The Leavitt baseball team depends on a strong group of upperclassmen, including juniors Trent Holst, Ryder Sawyer-Brown, and Brody Poland, along with seniors John Oliver and Tucker Harrington. Trent Holst and Ryder Sawyer-Brown have helped lead the offense this season, while the team’s older players have provided leadership during close games. Strong pitching and solid defense have also helped the Hornets stay successful throughout the season.

The Leavitt softball team has had a strong season and hopes to continue its success into the playoffs. The Hornets have built great team chemistry, with Hailey Cyr leading the team as their main pitcher. Seniors Brooke and Gabby have been important leaders in the outfield, while Leah has been solid defensively at first base. Sophomores Elizabeth Kowalski behind the plate, Reese B at shortstop, and Cayleigh in the outfield and at third base have all played important roles this season. Freshmen Charlie at second base and Mal in the outfield have also stepped up and contributed during games. The team’s teamwork, communication, and strong play on both offense and defense have been a big part of their success this spring.

Leavitt boys lacrosse has continued to battle hard all season and has earned important wins against competitive teams. The team has continued to improve on both offense and defense as the season has gone on. Girls lacrosse has also continued to work hard despite a difficult season. The players continue to support each other and stay positive while improving every game.

Track and field athletes have also impressed this spring with strong performances in running, jumping, and throwing events. Many athletes have reached new personal records while helping the team compete at meets throughout the season. With KVAC Championships and States coming up, Leavitt athletes are hoping to finish the season strong.

As the spring season continues, Leavitt teams hope to finish strong and make successful playoff runs. Whether through wins, personal achievements, or team improvement, Hornet athletes have represented their school with pride all spring long.
